The curriculum, using the StadlerOxford textbook, helps develop conceptual understanding, computational
fluency, and problem solving skills needed to prepare for the rigorous Algebra curriculum in eighth grade.
Instruction develops key concepts, using appropriate perceptual models, gives skill practice that emphasizes
accurate execution of algorithms, and flexible use of estimation techniques.

Student Objectives :
Students are encouraged to work on participation and focus in class. Retention and
application of concepts is reinforced through various instructional methods. Timely
completion of assignments and homework reinforces class topics and impacts positive
overall performance.
Evaluation Method :
Students will be evaluated using traditional test and quizzes to ensure retention and
understanding of class topics. Teacher observation during class activities will also be
used to evaluate the success and areas for improvement.
Homework Policy :
Students will receive full credit for homework completed on a timely basis and are
expected to give full effort on each problem. Each homework assignment is worth 5
points. Homework assignments are due the next day.
