INFORMATION AND DEFINITIONS FOR EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYMENT DATA
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) requires organizations with 100 or more employees to
complete an EEO-1 report each year using gender, race and ethnicity groupings listed on this form. The gender,
race and ethnicity groupings are designed to match employment data to US census data and to allow the EEOC
to track patterns in employment in a community.
Completion of EEO1 Race/Ethnicity and gender data will not affect your opportunity for employment or terms or
conditions of employment.
EEO information on this form will be used for EEO-1 and diversity reporting purposes only and will be kept
separate from all other personnel records. The YMCA of Greater Seattle is aware that these categories may not
reflect the full diversity of our workforce. Employees who wish to comment on these classifications should
contact the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission or their US representative as these reporting
requirements are mandated by federal law.
