REQUEST FOR RENT INCREASE

Participating landlords in the Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program may request a rental increase after
the initial year lease term and once every year thereafter. The request must be submitted to SAHA 90-120
days prior to the effective date of the tenant’s regular recertification. In order to be approved, this form
must be completed in its entirety. The landlord must be in compliance with all SAHA certification
requirements.
Upon receipt of your completed request form, SAHA will process your request to determine if the requested
rent is reasonable by comparing your rent to those of equivalent units in the private market. If your request is
approved, the rent increase will be effective on the tenant’s upcoming lease renewal. If SAHA determines
your rent is not reasonable, SAHA may either decrease or deny your rent.
