General Power of attorney :
Instructions.
When power of attorney is executed in India.
1.
Attorney should be a resident of India.
2.
Power of attorney is to be executed on a non judicial stamp paper of
Rs.100 (Tamil Nadu State) or special adhesive stamp of value Rs. 100 and
notarised.
3.
The executant should sign such page of the Power of Attorney and
wherever the blanks are filled in.
4.
A Judicial Magistrate or Notary Public should ATTEST the signature of
the executant.
In case of non residents, (if the power of attorney is executed outside India)
1.
The attorney should be preferably a resident of India.
2.
The power of attorney should be executed on a stamp paper / plain paper
as the case may be as applicable to the country in which the power of
attorney is executed.
3.
The signature of the executant should be attested by any authorised
official of the Indian Embassy / Indian Consulate / Trade Commissioner of
India in the country / Magistrate / Notary where the executant resides and
adjudicated in India within two months of receipt in India.
The attorney’s signature should be verified in India by Notary Public or

his employer or his banker on a separate piece of paper which should be
submitted to SBI together with the Power of Attorney.
