LIVE BINGO!
An Introduction Game for International Students
By Marjolijn Stehouwer, The Bridge, Nijmegan
The game is perfect to get to know a group of strangers in a short time. You learn about their
hobbyʼs, personalities and abilities.
You will need a small prize for the winner - chocolate or candy etc
The game goes like this:
Every person gets a Bingo sheet like the one on the next page. On the sheet there are a series of
boxes with descriptions of a person. Find the person in the group who matches the description and
get them to sign that box. The one that finds all the matching persons, and has their boxes signed,
in the shortest time wins.
For example: if the description is ʻplaying the pianoʼ you have to find someone who can play the
piano. The person that can play the piano should sign the box. Only one person needs to sign each
box.
All the people in the room move about freely, asking each other the questions: Do you play the
piano? What is your hobby? Do you like bungee-jumping? etc. People need to be honest - as it is
often difficult for them to that they can really do the requested thing!
In preparing the game, think about your group of people and change the descriptions accordingly.
Two different versions have been created for you, which you can adapt accordingly. If you expect
lower numbers of international students at your event, you should choose the smaller version.
HAVE FUN!!!
