Collaborative Birthday Banner
Give each child a copy of the banner template on page 10. Have children
complete the rhyme by filling in their birthdays and names. Then let them
use crayons, markers, glitter glue, cut paper,
and other materials to add decorative icing.
Give children copies of the candle patterns on
page 11 and have them cut out and color the
right number of candles, then paste them on
their cakes.
Have children work together to sequence
their cakes (starting in January or at the
beginning of the school year), then tape them
together to make a banner. (They can tape
them side to side or glue them to a long sheet
of craft paper.)
