Super Readers Weekly Reading Log
Reading Log Activities
Choose one of the following activities to complete at the end of the two weeks.
You cannot repeat any activities.
All assignments are stapled to this log.
1. Choose a character that seems to have realistic experiences in the novel. Describe the
characters experiences then write about something similar that has happened to you. One
page minimum.
2. Write a one page biography of the main character of the book after you finished reading.
It should include all of the major events they have had to overcome in the novel. One
page minimum.
3. Describe at least 10 similes, metaphors or personifications that occurred in your novel.
There should be enough of an explanation that the teacher will understand.
4. List 10 words from the novel that you found interesting. Write the definition of each
word. Write a sentence using each word. The sentence should pertain to your life. Write
down the page number you found the words. These should not be everyday words, but
ones that you would see in our Vocabulary program. If you are not sure about your
words, see the teacher before completing the write up.
5. Make a collage using quotes from the story that describe the novel. One page minimum.
The quotes should describe the novel.
6. Complete a series of five drawings for the novel that illustrate the major events in the
plot. Write captions for each drawing so that illustrations can be understood by someone
who hasn't read the novel.
7. Select one character from the novel that you think has the characteristics of a hero or a
heroine. List these qualities and explain why you think this character deserves a medal
.
Must be an in depth explanation of the qualities. At least one page.
8. Describe six events in the story, then describe what caused each event? What were the
effects of each event? At least one page.
