2.
Fund your new account.

• You can
register an external account
to transfer funds, or move funds from your brokerage account in real time.
• For Certificates of Deposits (CDs), you’ll have 10 calendar days to complete the funding process.
All other account types have a 30-day funding period.
• Maintain a minimum daily balance of $500 for your account to earn interest.
3.
Switch your direct deposits to Scottrade Bank.

• Fill out a
Direct Deposit
Authorization, and submit the completed form to your employer. To change your
Social Security direct deposits, call the Social Security Administration at 1-800-772-1213 or visit their website.
4.
Switch your automatic payments.
o
• Use Scottrade Bank
Online Bill Pay to schedule automatic payments and track all your bills. You can find

to help you get started.
• Make sure to cancel any automatic payments you have scheduled through your old bank or financial institution.
• Contact any billers who automatically debit payments from your account (such as a phone provider or cable
company) and provide them with your new Scottrade Bank
account number and routing number.

5.
Close your old bank account(s).
o
• Ask your old bank about any possible early withdrawal penalties (for example, it’s important to consider the
maturity dates of any CDs you hold).
• Use our Easy Switch Sheet to keep track of any outstanding checks or payments. Once they’ve all cleared,
submit a completed
Account Closing Form
to your bank or financial institution. Contact your financial institution
to see if they require any additional forms or information.
