Potty Training CheatSheet
Hints & tips to make life easier
Pass on the pull ups
Pull ups are much the same as nappies.  They are absorbant keeping the
uncomfortable, wet feeling away from the skin. In my experience I feel children learn
better by feeling and recognising when they have wet or solid and benefit from
feeling uncomfortable.
Nap-time I would use nappy or pull ups.
ALWAYS take clean clothes and underwear when you start going out. Accidents
can and will happen. Get into the habit of making sure your toddler goes on the
potty/toilet before you leave the house. Even if it bears no fruits.
Many a time we had accidents in the car seat. A fab idea is to use the Puppy
Training pads. Pop one in the car seat before you fasten your child in.
Master Daytime before thinking about nigh-time training. This can come a lot later.
Make sure you have plenty of clean bedding ready for those night time accidents.
Make sure you lift your child from bed and onto the toilet before you go to bed to
empty his/her bladder. This can usually be done with minimum fuss.
Watch your childs intake of liquid before bed.
Use a timer and get used to your child sitting on the potty every 30 - 60 minutes
Don't start potty training when changes are taking place at home. EG moving
home, new sibling.
Most importantly. Don't stress. If you think your child is ready, you
check for all the signs of readiness and go ahead, but feel things aren't
going well STOP!
Just wait a week or two and start again.. REMEMBER all those skills
your toddler has to learn first.
GOOD LUCK
