1. Can an expedited title processed over the counter be released to someone other than the
owner?
If the owner completes a Power of Attorney or an Expedited Title Authorization
Affidavit, the title may be released to someone else with proper photo I.D.
2. If there is more than one owner, do they all have to be present to receive an expedited title?
If the proper documents are submitted with all required signatures and only one owner is
present, the title can be released.
3. If a customer has previously applied for a title and has not received it in the mail, can they
apply for an expedited title?
If the title has been returned to the department as undeliverable, an expedited title can be
issued at no charge to the customer. Verification of address must be submitted if the
address differs from DMV records.
If the title has NOT been returned to the department as undeliverable and the title
issue date exceeds 20 days and a replacement title is applied for within 180 days of the
issue date, a title can be issued. If the customer wishes to receive their replacement title
as an expedited title, a $10.00 service fee is charged. Verification of address must be
submitted if the address differs from DMV records.
4. What is the cost to process a duplicate title which was issued more than 180 days ago?
The duplicate title fee for a vehicle is $75.75 and if you wish to have this processed as an
expedited title, an additional $10.00 service fee is required.
The duplicate title for a vessel is $6.50 and if you wish to have this processed as an
expedited title, an additional $5 service fee is required.

A customer comes into the office requesting a title correction. They would like to have this
processed as an expedited title. Is there a fee for this?
Yes, if the customer wishes to have this processed as an expedited title, a $10.00 service
fee is charged.
