Note!: Please note that the points below are only a few important items and that the onus is on
on the OWNER and DRIVER of the vehicle to ensure that his/her vehicle complies with the general
and specific vehicle construction and safety regulations as per the MSA Drag Racing Handbook
(and circulars) applicable to that year to race. The aim of the scrutineers is solely to provide
visual spot checks to ensure that most of the important safety factors are met.

Do you have the correct helmet & clothing? i.e. from 10.99 and quicker a full
fire retardant suit is mandatory including gloves, racing shoes and a
balaclava if running methanol.
If you are running ballast it is securely mounted in correct position?
Battery secure in box?
Do you have four wheel brakes with a handbrake or parachute as a back-up
brake?
Is the rear axle properly locked and attached to chassis properly, with no
welded spider gears?
Do you have propshaft loops?
Is engine free of water & oil leaks?
Do you run anti-freeze? (Only allowed in factory street)
Do you run a engine diaper? (10.99 seconds or quicker) (Compulsory by 2010)
Do you have a fire extinguisher or fire system in car?
Do you have a transmission shield?
Do you have a neutral start switch on automatic transmission?
Are you running the correct fuel for your class in proper fuel tank?
Do you have the correct roll bar if you are running under 12 sec?
Do you have the correct roll cage if running under 10.5 sec?
Do you have the correct safety harness i.c 3" belts with expiry dates?
Suspension - Do you have at least one shock per wheel?
Wheel & Tyres - Are they correct for your class? (No Slicks - Factory &
Modified Street)
Windscreens & Windows - Are they transparent and in good condition?
Race numbers on both sides of vehicles in readable position & size?
Do you have correct competition license?
Have you signed your entry form/s and indemnity form/s?
