BID ITEM: Water Main Work

SPECIFICATIONS: Briefly summarized, The Blandford Water Department is seeking bids for

water break repairs that may occur throughout the year.

Included in the bid will be hourly rates; regular, overtime and holiday

Also included will be equipment rates for: E-80 Excavator - 20 ton, T-650 Bobcat loader - 6 ton,

Trucking 10 wheel dump truck, Trucking 6 wheel dump truck, foreman and labor.

Also included is all work associated with the repair of all areas impacted by the work under this

contract, and traffic, both pedestrian and vehicular control measures.

Contractor is responsible for all excavation, backfill, compaction, trench shoring and pipe

bedding, seeding, sodding, driveway or road repair.

The contractor is responsible for all materials associated with the bedding around the pipe.

Bedding shall be Type 4 with 6” crushed stone bedding, then native material free from stones or

organic matter, hunched to springline then to 8” above top of the pipe, Compacted within the

bedding shall be to an 85% proctor.

All pipe materials shall meet the minimum Town of Blandford Water Department standards.
