We are about to launch into a major simulation of the United Nations General Assembly,

Security Council, and World Health Organization. You will be working both individually and in

groups to prepare yourself to represent a certain country on issues of international importance.

You will help solve the problems of the world with your understanding of both the country you

research and the complexity of the problems.

Your task is to become your nation’s expert on a particular problem up for discussion in a U.N.

committee. This requires that you research everything you can about both the issue under

consideration and the view of the government of the country you represent on that issue. You are

to write an informative research paper that teaches your other group members about three areas:

the issue, your nation’s response, and what your U.N. sub committee can actually do about the

problem.
