WORK RELEASE PROGRAM
CHECK LIST
If you were not given a date to report to the Dakota County Jail at your sentencing,
you need to call the Work Release (WR) staff at 651-438-8258, OPTION 4, within
3 business days of your sentencing to set up a report date.
Please review the Jail Work Release Program Handbook as you will be responsible
to know the program policies, procedures and Eligibility Criteria.
Please fill out the yellow Work Release Intake Form and have your employer sign it
at the bottom. Also read and sign the Work Release Agreement and the Dakota
County Community Corrections Consent for Release of Information.
Please return the Work Release Intake Form, and the signed Work Release
Agreement, along with a copy of your most recent paycheck/check stub to WR
staff by MAIL, EMAIL, FAX OR TURN IN TO THE LEC LOBBY WORK

DATE. Failure to return the paperwork will result in a delay on your release
for work.
When you report, check in to the main lobby of the LEC. You must with you have
the first weeks’ Work Release Fee of $175.00 in cash in exact change (plus
additional jail fees-contact the jail for further details). The WR fee is collected and
monitored by jail staff, NOT WR program staff.
All personal hygiene products must be purchased through the Dakota County Jail
Canteen. Work Release inmates are allowed to bring 3 changes of clothes into the
jail. You will not be allowed to go home to pick up clothes or other items.
You will be responsible to arrange your own medical and dental care while on WR.
YOU MUST obtain a court order to be furloughed and needs to be approved by WR
staff. Any currently prescribed medications* should be turned in to the jail staff at
booking in the original pharmacy container. Jail staff will distribute your meds
accordingly upon verification that the prescription is current.
*Methadone, Suboxone or any narcotics (except Vicodin) will NOT be
allowed in the jail.
