I’m writing to ask you to write a personal letter to (guest’s name) who is attending a Great

Banquet weekend at East Bay Camp (dates of weekend). During this 3-day spiritual retreat

there is time for personal reflection and renewal.

The personal letters are an important surprise in the weekend experience, so (guest’s name)

doesn’t know they will be receiving letters. The letter’s are meant to be an affirmation and

encouragement and the following are some ideas to help you get started:

o That you love, admire and/or respect the person

o How much they mean to you

o Any special memories, serious or humorous that you cherish

o Hopes or dreams that you have for the person

o How pleased you are for the opportunity to write this letter

The letter will remain confidential so feel free to make it as personal as possible. Any length

letter is appreciated and will enhance (guest’s name) experience.

When you are finished with you letter, please put it in a sealed envelope and write (guest’s

name) on the front with an “F” marked in the upper right corner (which stands for Friends and

Family).

Please send your letter to me by (date) so I can make sure it makes it to the retreat in time.
