EXAMINATIONS: Sec. 08.04.160 states, an applicant who fails an examination may take as many examinations as he/she
chooses. An applicant who receives a passing grade in at least two subjects has the right to be reexamined in only the
remaining subjects at succeeding examinations within the next five years after the first examination, IF THE APPLICANT TAKES
AN EXAMINATION IN THE REMAINING SUBJECTS AT LEAST ONCE EACH CALENDAR YEAR UNLESS EXCUSED BY THE
BOARD FOR GOOD CAUSE. If the applicant receives a passing grade in the remaining subjects, the applicant has passed the
entire examination. A score of 75% is required to pass each subject given. An applicant must attain a minimum grade of 50%
on each subject required to be written but not passed at an examination sitting to receive credit for passing subjects on which
a grade of at least 75% was attained at that sitting.
An applicant must, at each examination taken, be examined or reexamined in all subjects not previously passed.
The Uniform Certified Public Accountant Examination consists of four separately scored sections as follows:
i AUDIT
Auditing
i LPR
Business Law and Professional Responsibilities (formerly Business Law)
i FARE
Financial Accounting and Reporting - Business Enterprises (formerly Accounting Theory)
i ARE
Accounting and Reporting - Taxation, Managerial, and Governmental and Not-For-Profit Organizations
(formerly Accounting Practice)

Programs under the jurisdiction of the State of Alaska, Department of Community and Economic Development, Division of
Occupational Licensing, are administered in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. If you require special
accommodations when taking the licensing examination, please complete the attached "Documentation of Disability Related
Needs" form.
Requests for special accommodation(s) must be received 60 days before the scheduled examination date of the examination
you wish to attend.
Evaluation of your request will be made in conjunction with the professional documentation of your disability and you will be
notified in writing of any accommodations which are being provided.
EXAMINATION SITES:
Examinations are administered in Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks and other locations determined necessary. Candidates
who reside in a city where an exam site is located will be scheduled in that city.
If you are traveling to Alaska to take your examination, you are cautioned to avoid making airline reservations until you have
received approval from the board to sit for the examination and notification verifying the examination location.
