4VOLUNTEER OF EXCELLENCE PIN NOMINATION APPLICATION
The Volunteer of Excellence award recognizes volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering directly with
girls in any pathway to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience or who have contributed outstanding service in support of
the council’s mission-delivery to girl and adult members. A nomination application and one endorsement questionnaire is required.
Nomination deadlines: Due March 15 for April events; due April 15 for May events; due May 15 for June events.
Award Requirements:
The candidate is an active, registered adult Girl Scout.
•
The candidate abides by GSUSA and River Valleys’ policies, standards and procedures.
•
The candidate has completed at least one full year of service in the nominated position or chaired a committee or team
•
that completed the planning and implementation of at least one significant local event.
The candidate has performed beyond expectations for the position to deliver the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to girls
•
using the national portfolio, or
The candidate’s performance has been beyond the expectations of the position and has supported the council’s mission-
•
delivery goals in one or more of the following areas: membership development/community cultivation, volunteer relations
and support, program, leadership and governance, fund development or council support services.
The candidate actively recognizes, understands and practices the values of inclusive behavior.

Nomination Instructions:
Coordinate the completion of the required application and endorsement questionnaire. These can be submitted by the

same person or by different people as long as the nominator/endorser is familiar with the candidate’s volunteer service.
Note that if the candidate is approved for an award, s/he will receive a copy of the endorsement questionnaire.

Submit completed nomination application with the required endorsement questionnaire. The due date is dependent on the

date of the recognition event (see above). Instructions are on the back of this form.
Additional photos or video of the work this volunteer is being nominated for are optional but welcomed and encouraged.

Incomplete endorsement and/or application may result in disqualification of the nomination.
•
