(96-574). As you are probably already aware, you cannot advertise or enforce your

contracts as a home inspector unless you have complied with the act’s provisions. It is also a Class C

misdemeanor to enter into home inspection contracts without registering under this new act.

Basic information and registration requirements are included in this registration pamphlet. However,

Alabama Home Inspectors Registration Act requires that you submit a $300 registration fee with three (3)

documents:

(1).

Application – Must be completely filled out and notarized. NO EXCEPTIONS

(2).

Insurance Certification - On form provided with this application.

Proving that you have

obtained general liability and property damage insurance in the sum of not less than:

! $20,000 for injury or damage to property; and

! $50,000 for injury or damage, including death, to any one person; and

! $100,00 for injury or damage, including death, to more than one person; and

! Workers’ compensation insurance coverage (if applicable)

(3).

Certification of Net Worth or or or or Fidelity Bond payable to Secretary of State in the amount of ten

thousand ($10,000) dollars.

If all documents are found to be in order, you will be issued a Certificate of Registration for a one-year term

beginning January 1

in the year of application and expiring December 31

of that year.
