BAR ADMISSIONS AUTHORIZATION AND RELEASE

The Rules of Admission to the Bar of Montana require the Commission on Character and Fitness

(Commission) to make a determination whether to certify the admission of each applicant.

Certification refers to permission to sit for the Montana bar examination and be admitted to the

practice of law in Montana. In making its determination, the Commission and any person or

entity providing staff or prosecutorial support may request and obtain any such information that

bears upon my character and fitness, as I am an applicant.

This Authorization and Release is my consent to an investigation as described above of my

moral character, professional reputation, and fitness for the practice of law.

I understand this investigation includes release of medical, criminal, mental health, and financial

records. It also includes formal, informal, pending or closed bar discipline matters and litigation

documents, as well as any other matters the Commission deems necessary to conduct its

investigation.

I hereby release, discharge, and exonerate the Commission on Character and Fitness, the State

Bar of Montana, the Montana State Supreme Court, their agents, employees and representatives,

and any person or organization supplying information in connection with this application or the

investigation, from any and all liability of every nature and kind arising out of the disclosure of

information or documents relating to the Commission’s investigation.
