RESPONSIBLE MASTER PLUMBER (RMP) DESIGNATION APPLICATION

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Minimum requirements for Initial Designation as a Responsible Master Plumber (RMP):

 Must be currently licensed and in good standing as a Texas Master Plumber.

 Must submit an original certificate of completion of a Board approved 24 hour Responsible

Master Plumber training class.

 Must submit a completed Board approved Certificate of Insurance form showing proof of valid

insurance that meets the following minimum requirements:

(a) provides for commercial general liability insurance for the named Responsible Master

Plumber for claims for property damage or bodily injury, regardless of whether the claim

arises from a negligence claim or on a contract claim; and

(b) is in a coverage amount of not less than $300,000 for all claims arising in any one-year

period; and

insurance coverage must include all types of plumbing that will be performed under the

RMP’s license, including if applicable, liquefied petroleum gas plumbing, medical gas

plumbing, and multipurpose residential fire protection sprinkler plumbing.

 Must submit an application and a- non-refundable RMP designation application fee of ($345)

with a current Master Plumber License.
