Transfer Oregon Plates

You can transfer valid Oregon plates to the vehicle if they are:

• Readable;

• Current issue, special registration, or custom plates; and

• Transferred to the same type of vehicle as they are currently on.

• For example, motorcycle plates can be transferred to a motorcycle but not to a moped.

The plate transfer fee is $6. You will owe additional fees, to renew, if the plate is expired.

Note in the “Remarks” section of your application that you want to transfer a plate and the plate number.
