Editor’s Note: Section 25.0951, E.C., provides that if a student fails to attend school without an excuse on 10 or more days or parts of days
within a six-month period in the same school year, a school district shall, within 10 school days of the student’s last absence (i.e., the 10th
absence), file a complaint against the student, the student’s parent, or both in the appropriate court alleging an offense under Section 25.093
or 25.094, E.C.
Section 25.085, E.C., allows a board of trustees of a school district to adopt a policy requiring a student who voluntarily enrolls in school or

such as “Parent Contributing to Nonattendance,” under these rules.
