6. Cut the ribbon to the length that you would like it and position it on the star

Point so that the cut end is at the uppermost part of the point. Baste it on.

7. Pin the stars together, right sides facing each other. Mark a small line to

show where the ribbon is basted on. You’ll be sewing across this marked line to

secure the ribbon between the two sides of fabric. Mark two lines about 1.5

inches apart to remind yourself of where a gap should be left in the stitching

for turning the star right side out later on. Be careful to make sure all of the

star edges and corners are lined up before you sew and do keep an eye on the

ribbon so that you don’t catch it in the other edges whilst you sew.
