2. Read the background information and make any notes you think will be
helpful in your notebook
3. Introduction to Airplanes Reading Piece NOTES:
4. Complete the aspect-ratio handout lesson
5. Pick one of the two available paper airplane styles as your control: Basic
Dart or Belly-button glider and construct it.
6. Calculate and record the following measurements about your control
plane in your notebook: wing span, average chord and aspect ratio (see
#4 handout from above.).
7. Sketch a picture of your model below, including your own aspect-ratio
measurements.

8. Run 4 trials of your control airplane. For each trial, record how far this
plane flies. Take any other notes about that trial in the data table. For
example, if the plane hits the wall, lands in a bush or tree, goes straight up
and then crashes straight down etc.
9. At this point you will need to:
Remake a new control and start all over making sure to look at your
notes so you can make the same plane you started with. This will be
the one you manipulate for testing.
