Dog Licenses

State law requires that ALL DOGS MUST BE LICENSED YEARLY. The License year commences

on January 1

and ends on the following December 31

. You do not have to register your dog until it

is 5 months old. Dog license fees are due in full prior to April 1

of each year. A late fee of $5.00 shall

be collected from every owner failing to obtain a license prior to April 1

or within 30 days of

acquiring ownership of a licensable dog. Owners that fail to license their dogs can be reported to the

district attorney.
