Groom’s Duties
• Puchases bride’s engagement and wedding rings
• Has his family and friends compile guest list
• Selects best man, groomsmen, and ushers
• Plans the honeymoon
• Coordinates passports for foreign travel
• Chooses formal wear style
• Makes sure groomsmen and ushers are fitted for formal wear
• Organizes wedding day transportation for bridal party
• Arranges transportation for bride and groom to and from the ceremony and reception sites
• Coordinates accommodations for out-of-town guests
• Arranges wedding- night accommodations for bride and groom
• Buys a gift to give to the bride on the wedding day
• Pays for the clergy fee (should give to Best Man on the day of the wedding to pay for the ceremony)
• Appoints a groomsman to return rented formal wear
• Pays for bride’s bouquet, bride’s going away outfit, and corsages for the mothers & grandmothers
• Assists parents in planning rehearsal dinner
• Writes thank you notes (both bride and groom)
