38Make the Lesser Product
You will need a spinner with 10 congruent sectors, labelled 0 to 9,
an open paper clip as a pointer, and a sharp pencil to keep it in place.
Players create a product of a decimal and a whole number.
The object of the game is to make the lesser product.
Decide who will be Player A and Player B.
® Each player copies the grid and triangle below.

® Player A spins the pointer on the spinner.
In a box on his grid, Player A writes the number the pointer lands on.
If Player A decides that he does not want to use that number,
he writes it in the triangle.
Only one number can be written in the triangle.
® Player B has a turn.
® Players continue to take turns until all the boxes are full.
Once a number is placed, it cannot be changed.
® Players find the product of their numbers.
The player with the lesser product wins.
® Play the game again. This time, the greater product wins.
