Fundamental Knowledge
A factor of a number is a whole number that divides evenly into the other number. So,
when you divide by a factor the remainder is zero. Factors come in pairs. When you divide
a number by one of its factors, the answer or quotient is the paired factor.
A prime number is a number whose only factors are 1 and itself.
A composite number is a number with factors other than 1 and itself.
All numbers are either prime or composite, except for the number 1, which is neither.
