Dear student leaders,
As Director of Foundation Board Engagement, I wanted to share an exciting new opportunity for
you to be among the first Student Delegates to serves on the Foundation Board.
The Foundation Board consists of Directors who serve as ambassadors for the University and
Foundation. Directors are voting members who serve four-year terms. In this new position, at
least two students will join to serve two-year terms.
Guided by the university’s But for Ohio State campaign goals and advancement structure, the
Directors’ work is driven by a strategy to enhance Ohio State’s excellence in research,
scholarship, and service. To move from A to A+ in this arenas, the Foundation focuses on three
key areas: growing the number of alumni and friends engaged with the university and
stewarding them; increasing the number of donors and private gift support; and developing and
fostering collaboration with university leadership, volunteer boards and other constituents.
As a Delegate, your contributions will assist the Foundation Board in guiding the university, but
you will also learn more about higher education and philanthropic impact. While participating at
this level provides abundant opportunities to serve your university, you must also be able to
balance your academic and personal commitments. Delegates will actively participate in all
Board activities and provide an on-campus, student perspective to Board discussions. This
insight is unique and highly valued, making the Delegate a critically important component in
Ohio State’s advancement team.
If this type of service interests you, I encourage you to apply. The application form and
additional information about the Foundation Board can be accessed online at
foundationboard.osu.edu. The application deadline is February 12, 2016, at 12 pm.
