FOURTH GRADE HISTORY PROGRAM
Kathy Burnette, the Fourth Grade History Program Chair, is hard at work putting together
this year’s Fourth Grade History Program for the Fourth Graders from Wimberley Schools.
Students will learn about the mill operations and the importance of the Mill Race. They will
also learn about the various millers who ran the mill for many years. They will tour the
Winters-Wimberley House and the newly restored Wimberley-Hughes (Zach) House.

ANNUAL PIE SOCIAL
One of the most enjoyable community events takes place on Saturday, April 12,
2014, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on the grounds of the historic Winters-Wimberley
House. The community is invited to enjoy hot dogs, snow cones, face-painting, bouncy
house and, of course, the star of the show, scrumptious PIES, PIES, PIES, baked by some
of Wimberley’s best cooks. There will be live music by Jim Halfpenny.
Most importantly, we need WIC members and friends to donate pies for the event.
You may also enter a pie(s) in the Pie Contest. Judges will select the best tasting pies in
several categories and these winning pies will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. The
pie entry form is on the last page of this newsletter. You do not have to be a
member of the Wimberley Institute of Cultures to enter the pie contest.
