Anniversary Call to Native American Artists

In recognition of the 36
Anniversary of the Cultural Center’s opening, a special vending area will
be hosted for a Native Artist Market here on the Cultural Center Campus during celebration
activities on June 10, 2016.
Native artists are welcome to apply to sell their original, handmade works of art as one of 14 artists
selected to participate in the Native Artist Market. All mediums and genres (traditional, customary,
and contemporary) of art work are being accepted for consideration.
Objectives:
To create an opportunity for native artists to gain exposure for their art work
To provide entrepreneurial opportunities for native artists
To create an opportunity for the community to purchase quality handmade native arts and crafts.
Eligibility:
Yakama nation artists will receive priority consideration
Enrolled members of any federally recognized Tribe may apply
All work to be sold in the Native Artists Market must be original and handmade by the artist
identified on the application.
Eligible items include ( but are not limited to): Jewelry, beadwork, fiber art, pottery, quilts, custom
furniture, stained and blown glass, heritage crafts, photography, woodwork, sculpture, clothing,
accessories, and mixed media works.
Ineligible items include crafts made from store-bought kits or molds, manufactured items that have
been assembled, resale or mass produced items.
Potential artists must submit an application form with photographs of items intended for sale at the

celebration.
Booth Fees:
A single 10’ X 10’ booth space costs $10.00 for the day. Electricity is not provided.
Rules:
An artist’s must let the Economic Development Director know when he or she would like to offer
new items or mediums aside from those identified on the original application.
Set up can begin at 7:30AM. The space must be cleaned up by 4:00PM
Cancellations: An artist who needs to cancel a booth reservation should let the Economic
Development Director know by 5:00PM June 6, 2016.
