The court received evidence and opinions from the participants. The court has determined by
clear and convincing evidence that emancipation is in the best interest of the minor. The court
finds that the petitioner is capable of assuming adult responsibilities and living independently.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED:
1.
The minor is declared emancipated.
2.
As an emancipated minor, the minor may enter into contracts, buy and sell
property, sue or be sued, retain his or her own earnings, borrow money for any purpose
(including for education), and obtain health care without parental consent.
3.
The Petitioner is not considered an adult for purposes of the criminal laws of the
state or for specific constitutional and statutory age requirements regarding voting, use of
alcoholic beverages, possession of tobacco or firearms, and other health and safety regulations
relevant to the minor because of the minor’s age.
4.
This Order of Emancipation prospectively terminates parental responsibilities
based on the minor’s status as a minor under the custody and control of a parent, guardian or
custodian.
