Second     paragraph:     share     a     little     about     yourself,     your     background,     goals,     and     indicate     why     the  

scholarship   i s   i mportant   t o   y ou.  

 

Example:  I  am  a  Marine  Biology  major   who  plans  to  study  bull  sharks.  I  am  currently  a  sophomore  and  

plan   t o   g raduate   i n   S pring   0 f   2 014.   I n   m y   f amily   w e   g rew   u p   o n   t he   w ater  and   a lthough   w e   d idn’t   h ave   a  

lot  of  money  going  to  the  beach  was  something  we  could  enjoy  as  a  family.  Currently  I  am  interning  at  

Florida   F ish   a nd   W ildlife   w orking   i n   t he   s hark   r esearch   l ab.   U pon   g raduation,   I   w ill   s eek   e mployment   w ith  

them   so   I   can   continue   my   research   and   my   dream   of   educating   people   about   these   misunderstood  

animals.  

 

Third  paragraph:  close  by  thanking  the  donor  again  and  make  a  commitment  to  do  well  with  the  donor  

investment.
