Dear all,
It's very very sad news for the women’s scientific community. It's a great loss for us. We lost an intelligent
woman in this field. I met with Prof. Farida in a young scientific congress in 2009, Bangladesh. Later I met
with her several times in Malaysia during my PhD study. She was very nice, great and always a very
helpful lady.

I would like to commiserate with the family of Prof. Farida over the demise of a great lady and an icon to
OWSD. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. We, in Nigeria pray that God will
give you the fortitude to bear loss. May her gentle soul rest in peace.

News about Prof. Farida Shah made us pause and reflect about the wonderful interactions we had, both
during 2007 & 2010 visits to Beijing.
Planned to meet her, in her home town and the wish is going to remain a wish now.
She left a message, to be focused and committed to the cause of enhancing scientific temper, especially
among women and thus enhancing quality of life, worldwide.
Admirers,
Dr. Kameswari S.V & Dr. Prakash Vinjamuri
