CONDITIONS GOVERNING HISTORICAL ARTIFACT LOANS
1. The lender warrants that he or she is the owner of the property described herin, or is the owner's duly authorized
representative, and has authority to enter into this agreement.
2. Objects lent to the Joliet Rotary Club shall remain in its possession for the period specified on the front of this loan
agreement, but may be withdrawn from exhibition at any time at the discretion of the Club.
3. In order to protect the owner, loans will be returned only to the owner or to his or her duly authorized
representative.
4. If the legal ownership of the described property changes during the period of this loan, whether by reason of death,
sale, gift or otherwise, the new owner is required to establish his or her legal right by proof satisfactory to the Joliet
Rotary Club.
5. If ninety (90) days after the expiration of the loan period, the Joliet Rotary Club has been unsuccessful in its efforts
to contact the lender and arrange for the return of the described property, and no special arrangements have been
made for the return of the loan, then the property will be placed in storage at the lender's risk and expense. The
Joliet Rotary Club may take title to the property if it has not been reclaimed by the lender or his/her representative
by following the abandoned property procedures pursuant Illinois state law.
6. Damage visible on loaned property should be indicated in the description on the front of this agreement. The
absence of any notations as to the condition of the property shall mean it was in good condition at the time it was
received by the Joliet Rotary Club.
7. Under the terms of this agreement the Joliet Rotary Club and the Joliet Area Historical Museum will give the same
care to loaned objects as it does to comparable property of its own, and shall not otherwise be responsible for such
objects.
8. This loan agreement constitutes a release of the Joliet Rotary Club from any liability in connection with the loaned
property. The Joliet Rotary Club cannot accept responsibility for any error or deficiency in information furnished
to the lender's insurers or for lapses in coverage in the lender's policy.
9. Unless the Joliet Rotary Club is notified in writing to the contrary, it is understood that objects lent to it may be
photographed and reproduced for the purpose of record keeping, for inclusion in the Joliet Rotary Club
publications, and for publicity purposes connected with the exhibition.
10. All notices required to be sent by this loan agreement shall be considered sufficient if sent by certified mail to the
lender at the address shown on the front of this agreement or the last change of address sent by the lender.
11. The above conditions shall apply to all objects lent to the Joliet Rotary Club and cannot be altered, changed,
waived, or otherwise affected except by written consent of both the lender and the Joliet Rotary Club.
