Proxy voting form
Proxy voting is provided for by section 25 of the Constitution of Dragon Boating WA Inc. Voting
entitlements are specified as per clause 23 of the Constitution. The rules are summarised as
follows:
Only a natural person who is also a financial member of DBWA is eligible to vote.
The voting entitlements of an member will commence 7 days after their acceptance into
the DBWA membership.
Life Members have the same voting entitlements as Ordinary Members.
Honorary Members do not have the right to vote.
Where a member is eligible to vote at any meeting, that member is entitled to only a single
vote per any one motion or matter.
In case of equality on voting on any question, the Chairperson of the meeting shall exercise
a second or casting vote in favour of maintaining the status quo.
A vote may be by proxy.
The person who serves as a proxy must be a financial member of a Club Member (this
person does not need be a member of your club). The Chairperson may also be designated
to serve as a proxy.
Each member eligible to vote is entitled to appoint a proxy, however the proxy must be on
the DBWA proxy form (this form) and given to the DBWA Administration Director prior to
the commencement of the meeting.
The Chairperson is not bound to accept any proxy forms received after the start of a
meeting.
There are two options for submitting proxy forms:
1) Complete and sign the proxy form and send a scanned copy to DBWA via email at least
5 working days prior to the AGM (email DBWA at .au)
OR
2) Ensure the completed and signed proxy form is handed to a DBWA Board member (or
designated person) before the meeting begins.
