as an analyst at ABC Private Bank. I believe my solid financial experience and my outgoing

personality would make me a strong addition to your team. I have enclosed my resume, which

details my qualifications and provides more information on how I might be an asset to your

company.

I recently graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in economics (with a major GPA of

3.85). I interned last year at HSBC Private Bank in New York and am thus very familiar with

the workings of a major private wealth management department. While HSBC has offered me a

position as an analyst, I believe that ABC Private Bank, with its team-based approach to

managing clients’ holdings, is a better match for my skill set.

In addition to my academic and internship work, I have been a member of the Yale University

Investment Club during my entire academic career and served as its president. The Club

manages 10 percent of the University’s endowment, and our returns last year surpassed that of

the endowment’s other managers by 37 basis points. Last spring, I also brought a new fixed-

income investment vehicle to the attention of the endowment’s managers that brought about a

25 basis point improvement in the endowment’s overall returns.

In my spare time, I serve as a mentor through my local Big Brothers Big Sisters program, and

I’m active in charitable activities through my church as well. I have worked my way through

college on scholarships and summer jobs, and rose to the rank of assistant manager at Macy’s

during the two summers before my internship.

I am a hard worker who has earned what I’ve received, and my academic knowledge and real-

life experience can make me a valuable part of ABC Private Bank.
