Dear Applicant:
Covenant Manor is an affordable housing community located in Long Beach, California.
Covenant Manor operates under the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)
Section 202/8 Supportive Housing for the Elderly Program.
Covenant Manor is governed by HUD regulations and accepts applicants who meet the
following criteria: the head of household, co-head or spouse must be 62-years of age or older
and/or a disabled adult over the age of 18. Income requirements are as follows: for a one
person household the annual income limit is $28,550 and for a two person household it is
$32,600. Covenant Manor is a low-income housing community, providing two-bedrooms (there
are only two) and one-bedroom apartments. There is no entry fee. HUD requires that families
participating in the Section 202/8 program pay 30% of their adjusted annual income towards
their rent. Please note that meals and health services are not provided.
Enclosed you will find the following documents: HUD Form 1141: Applying for HUD Housing
Assistance, a Typical Unit Floor Plan for a one bedroom, an Application for Residency, the
Supplemental and Optional Contact Information for HUD-Assisted Housing Application, and a
Family Summary Sheet and Citizenship Declaration forms. Please complete all of these
documents completely and return to Covenant Manor at 600 E. Fourth Street Long Beach, CA
90802. Once received, your application will be processed for admission, placed on the waiting
list, or rejected based on the preliminary eligibility determination.
Admission to Covenant Manor is subject to a final review of your application when you reach the
top of the waiting list. You will also be contacted on an annual basis to determine if you are still
interested in remaining on the waiting list.
