Section A. Selection Committee: Representatives from Couch Oil Company, the Durham Bulls Baseball Club, former

scholarship recipients and other community leaders shall serve on the Couch Oil Cares (COC) Scholarship Selection

Committee.

Section B. Application: Applications for the Couch Oil Cares Scholarships will be available at the Couch Oil Company

concourse booth at Durham Bulls Athletic Park (select games only), online at

(Community

section), , the Couch Oil Company Facebook page and other mutually agreed upon

locations.

Section C. Eligibility: Applications for the scholarships shall be limited to:

* Current High School Seniors (as of April 1, 2016) from Wake, Durham, Orange, Johnston, Nash, Wilson,

Alamance, Chatham, Franklin, Granville, Person and Caswell Counties.

* The applicant must have been accepted to and registered at either a four-year or community college for the

fall of 2016.

Section D. Deadline: Applications must be postmarked no later than July 15, 2016.

Section E. Granting Scholarships: Couch Oil Company will award four (4) scholarships of $1,000 each, for one year only.

The scholarships will be paid directly to the school in one installment after proof of acceptance and registration is

received.

Section F. Required Documents: To be eligible for the Couch Oil Cares Scholarship, an applicant must submit the

following credentials to the selection committee by July 15, 2016:

1. An application for the scholarship.

2. An official high school transcript for grades 9-12.

3. One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher/counselor/advisor.

4. A letter of acceptance from the student’s intended college/community college.

5. Any other supportive documents or letters that enhance the application.

6. A resume of significant honors, achievements and extra-curricular activities in grades 9-12, including

leadership experience.

Section G. Interview: If deemed a finalist, the applicant must be available for an interview with the Scholarship

Committee in July 2016.
