This is referred to as the VENDOR DONATION LETTER. The solicitation should be

personal, from a company representative to a vendor representative. It may be made in

person or through a letter writing campaign to all vendors. The key is having the right

person make the request!

<Insert your company name> is joining the American Heart Association in the battle against

heart disease and stroke. Our employees are participating in the Puget Sound Heart Walk. We

will be helping to raise much needed funds for medical research and community education

programs.

We ask you to join us as we continue to fight against America’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers, heart

disease and stroke. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) kill over 870,000 Americans each year and

claim more lives each year than the next five leading causes of death combined. Stroke by itself

is the third leading cause of death and a leading cause of serious, long-term disability. CVD will

cost Americans an estimated $448.5 billion this year for treatment, rehabilitation and lost

productivity.

Your company’s tax-deductible contribution of <Insert specific amount such as: $10,000,

$5,000, $2,500, etc.> to the American Heart Association will support efforts to prevent and treat

these diseases that so greatly impact our families and our workplace. We greatly appreciate

any amount <vendor company name> can contribute as part of the fundraising effort for <insert

Please mail your check, made payable to the American Heart Association, to me directly at the

address below. Please indicate that this donation is in response to my request. The American
