Introduction: The Progressive Era (1900 - 1920) was a direct outgrowth of the problems which were created during the Industrial Age in America. The masses were no longer
willing to accept poverty and powerlessness at a time of great wealth and world power. People demanded changes which would give them greater control of their government and
solve the problems of urban and industrial growth. These would become the goals of the Progressive Era, an era of reform.
