Your Notice of Proposed

Property Tax

Between

November 10 and N o v e m b e r 24,

2000, you will receive a Notice of Proposed

Property Tax from your County Treasurer.

By state l a w - - as an owner of rental

housing - - you are required to:

• mail or h a n d deliver a copy of the

notice to your tenants, OR

• post a copy of your notice in a conspicu-

ous place on the premises occupied by

your tenants.

The p u r p o s e of posting the notice is to

notify tenants of p r o p o s e d p r o p e r t y tax

increases or decreases on the building,

which m a y affect their rent payments.

Also, since the notice provides dates,

times and places of local b u d g e t hearings,

tenants will have an opportunity to voice

opinions to their public officials about the

proposed increases or decreases.

You must post, mail, or h a n d deliver a

copy of y o u r Notice of Proposed Property

Tax to y o u r tenants by:

• Monday, November 27, 2000, OR

• no later than three days after you

receive the notice, if you receive it after

November 24, 2000.

If you w a n t your notice to be

mailed to a different address

While the Notice of Proposed Property

Tax is normally mailed to the same

address as the property tax bill, owners of

rental housing m a y call or write their

County Treasurer.

In January, w h e n you give the required

asked about tax issues.

N e x t year's CRP forms

In an effort to reduce the n u m b e r of

fraudulent p r o p e r t y tax refund returns

from being filed, CRP forms are not

available on the d e p a r t m e n t website or in

the Package XM (a b o o k of commonly

used tax forms). Each fall, the Depart-

ment of Revenue sends the CRP forms

directly to the landlords.

To p r o v i d e y o u with better service, the

d e p a r t m e n t maintains a mailing list with

your name, address, a n d the quantity of

CRP forms y o u o r d e r e d the previous

year.

If y o u r name, address, or the number of

forms you need changes, please let us

know by filling out and returning the

form below, or b y calling 651-296-3781 or

1-800-652-9094.

If you w a n t to create and print your own

substitute CRP forms next year rather

than receive your current supply, indicate

y o u r desire below and mail the form to

the a d d r e s s provided. Please note that if

you check the box to receive specifications

next year, you will receive the specifica-

tions and two CRP forms for use as

examples. You will receive only two

copies of the form, regardless of the

quantity you request.
