THE NETWORKING CHEAT SHEET
NETWORKING GOALS
Are you looking for a mentor? Do you want to spread awareness about a new project?
Having a clear goal will make networking less tedious and to more effective conversa-
tions. Jot down a few goals you have in mind.
ELEVATOR PITCH
First connections are very important. This is where your elevator pitch comes in handy.
Start off a conversation with a brief sentence about who you and what you do.
Hi, my name is [your name]
I help [your audience]
do/ understand [action/result]
so they can [benefit]
I do this by [product/service]
QUESTIONS
Don’t be afraid to ask, and know what you’re asking for. Wheather you need a lead on
a job position, or you’d like to know more about a company, asking the right questions
can be very beneficial. Prepare a few questions that you can ask anyone. (i.e. What
do you do? Are there any openings at your company? Who do I speak to if I need to
get in contact with the ________ department?)
