Discount-The discount for timely filing is 5% on the first $100 of tax due, PLUS 2% on any tax over $100 not to exceed a max of $400 per month. For

example, if the tax amount due is $325, the discount would be computed as follows: $100x5%=$5.00. PLUS ($225x2%)=$4.50 equals a total discount of

$9.50.

There is no discount allowed on Consumer Use Tax or Sellers Use.

The discount for Montgomery County is 5% on the first $100 of tax due, PLUS ¾% for any tax over $100.

The discount for Vestavia Hills is 5% on the first $100 of tax due, PLUS 3% for any tax over $100.

Penalties-Failure to Timely File Penalty is 10% of the tax due per jurisdiction OR $50.00, whichever is greater. Failure to Timely Pay Penalty is

10% of the tax due per jurisdiction.
