o A NOUN is the name of a person, place, thing, idea or quality.

house, love, loyalty)
o A PRONOUN is a word used to take the place of a noun. (he, she, we,
it, they)
o A VERB is a word used to express action, being, or state of being. (run,
swim, skip, dream)
o An ADJECTIVE is used to modify/describe a noun or a pronoun. (green,
lovely, silly, twelve)
Adjectives answer these questions: What kind? Which one(s)? How many? How
much? Whose?
