Copy the blank clocks on cardstock, laminate and cut out (12). With

a Vis-a-vis marker, fill in the hour and minute hand according to

the time you are working on . Also, label each clock with the letters

of the alphabet from a-L. Put the clocks around your classroom

(not in order).

Tell the students they must walk around the classrooms to find each

clock and write the digital time on their sheet. They do not need to

find the clocks in order, but must look to see what letter they found

and write the digital time next to that letter (on the recording

sheet). I let my students use their clipboards and tell them the only

rule is that they cannot talk. When they finish, they need to go

back to their seats and look at their digital times that they wrote

and make each of them on their clock (we make paper plate clocks

at the beginning of the unit). If you do not have analog clocks for

them to practice on, have them draw the analog clock on a marker

board.
