Dispositions Assessment
In addition to strong academic performance, candidates in the History Education Program
should demonstrate the dispositions necessary for success in the teaching profession. In
fact, Bagwell College of Education policy regarding admission to and retention in teacher
ed programs states that candidates must exhibit “responsible, professional behavior in all
classes, the field experience[s], and interactions with peers and faculty.”
This Dispositions Assessment is to be completed by at least two faculty members from
whom an HIED student has taken upper level (3000-4000) history courses. (The student
is to request assessments from two history professors; the program area may ask a third
faculty member to complete the form.) In addition, all KSU faculty members are welcome
to complete this form for any HIED student they teach.
Faculty Member: Please rate the teacher candidate named below and return this form
directly to Dr. Bryan McGovern (in person, via office mailbox [#2206], or via email at
bmcgover@kennesaw.edu). An electronic copy of the form is available on the History
and Philosophy website. We appreciate your taking the time to do this. Thank you.
