Assignment Process
Applicants are added to the assignment list based upon the date the application and application fee are received.
Applicants must be admitted to the University of North Dakota to receive an apartment assignment.
Assignments are made based on the applicant’s desired date of occupancy and if an apartment is available on or before that date. The
applicant with the earliest application date will be assigned to an apartment if one of his/her apartment choices match the available
apartments. If no match is found, the applicant will be bypassed (maintaining their original priority number on the waiting list) and the next
applicant will be considered for assignment. This process is followed until all available apartments have been assigned. Assignment letters
are emailed to your official UND email address. Please be sure to keep this information up to date.
The University of North Dakota is a tobacco-free campus. The use of tobacco is prohibited within University apartments and on University owned
property surrounding UND housing units. This policy applies to all faculty, staff, students, vendors and visitors. Tobacco use includes the possession
of any lighted tobacco product, or the use of any oral tobacco product. The religious use of sage, sweet grass and cedar in accordance with their well-
established manner of use within American Indian ceremonial traditions for the purpose of purification and prayer is permitted in UND Apartments.
