EdD GRADUATE STUDENT CONFERENCE TRAVEL
Terms of Reference
1.
Funds up to a $400 maximum will normally be provided from the Faculty of Education, EdD
Graduate Programs for one conference per fiscal year (April 1 – March 31) per student until
funds are exhausted.
2.
Recipients must be registered in the Doctor of Education (EdD) program and be in good standing
(not on-leave or on an extension of time limit). Funding is available for students once core
coursework is completed successfully; funds are not available to students attending conferences
after the defense date of their thesis.
3.
Applications must be received in the EdD Faculty of Education, Graduate Programs office at
least one month prior to the date of the proposed travel.
4.
Application is made on the following page and must include:
a)
a brief description of the work to be done, paper to present, and its relevance to the
student's program;
b)
a brief budget showing anticipated expenses and all sources of funding applied for or
received, including research grant contributions;
c)
original letter or email from the conference organization confirming the conference
presentation.
5.
Reimbursement of travel expenses will be made from departmental accounts on the Travel and
Business Expense claim form after the travel is complete. This form will be distributed to the
student once this application has been approved.
