20At the beginning of medical school, I remember deliberating with a friend about
the selection of a medical specialty. I vividly recall her saying, “ You have to do what
gives you life.” I carried that sentiment with me as I searched throughout my third year
of training. I enjoyed the varied rotations, but none as many as that month this past April.
I can think of no better way to spend my life than to empower women to live theirs in
health.
